We have now been around for 15 years! Everything began in 2008, when Ansgar Möller wanted to share his passion for the Way of St. James and organized a journey on the Camino Francés for friends. The interest was so great that he soon decided to become self-employed and founded Pilgino as a travel organizer. Over the years, a large team has grown together, united by a shared passion for pilgrimage.
Today, in addition to group and individual journeys, we also offer pilgrim equipment in our online shop and have a small store in Bremen, where we offer the excellent wines from the Way of St. James.
After Ansgar began organizing accompanied pilgrim journeys, he opened an online shop offering all essential pilgrim equipment. Today, it is the largest supplier of pilgrim gear in Germany. A few years later, after returning from Spain, Ansgar had the idea of bringing back some of the excellent Spanish wines. Soon after, he opened a wine shop with the best wines of the Way of St. James and other delicacies. Today, Pilgino offers a comprehensive range centered around the well-known Ways of St. James in Spain, Portugal, and France.
Our Pilgino team now has 15 years of experience in organizing accompanied group journeys and individual trips. Being part of the experiences of so many pilgrims has been extremely enriching for us, and we hope to help you enjoy the Way of St. James to the fullest while sharing a bit of our enthusiasm with you.
Our goal is to make a pilgrimage on one of the Ways of St. James possible for as many people as possible. At the same time, it is important to us to keep this experience as authentic as possible and to support the infrastructure on which the magic of the Way of St. James depends. That is why we deliberately select small, family-run guesthouses and restaurants. We often work with independent artists and guides from Spain and maintain close relationships with all our partners along the Ways of St. James.
Our tours are designed to remain affordable without compromising on accommodation or meals. That is why a good value-for-money ratio with our partners is especially important to us. Our accommodations are located either directly on the Way of St. James or within easy walking distance, allowing our guests to experience the unique atmosphere of the Camino. We encourage everyone to walk consciously and give this journey special meaning. To support this, we provide in-depth background information on the historical and spiritual significance of pilgrimage. A short spiritual start to the day offers inspiring thoughts for those who wish. All our guides are passionate pilgrims themselves and are happy to share their experiences with you!
A pilgrimage is therefore a special kind of journey, and luxury is not the highest priority. While we always ensure a basic level of comfort, we invite everyone to experience the essential aspects of pilgrimage firsthand: realizing how little is needed to be happy and discovering the strength and endurance of one's own body. After all, every pilgrim eventually faces the profound question: Where am I truly heading, and how do I want to arrive there?
