Our team

Ansgar fell in love with the Way of St. James at the age of 18. Growing up as a passionate boy scout, he was fascinated by the unique mixture of impressive nature, close camaraderie between pilgrims and the cultural exchange on the Way of St. James. When he told his friends about the Way of St. James, he noticed how many were interested but remained skeptical as to whether they could manage such a journey alone. So his idea was born: he wanted to give as many people as possible the opportunity to experience their own pilgrimage without having to worry about accommodation, language barriers or heavy luggage. With the security of having someone nearby in case something happened.

Michelle is known as **the voice on the phone**. She became part of the Pilgino team in the summer of 2018 and has been responsible for the travel sector ever since. In addition to telephone and sometimes personal consultations, she is also responsible for written correspondence (offer and booking processing). She gained experience in pilgrimage in 2019 with our group tour 3 on the Camino Francés from Calzadilla de la Cueza to Cacabelos. Before Michelle joined Pilgino, she completed a two-year vocational training as a foreign language correspondent and speaks German, English and Spanish.

Sebastian has been working at Pilgino since August 2022. He deals with our German and above all English-speaking customer inquiries with all the associated tasks such as correspondence on the phone and by e-mail, the preparation of offers and travel programs as well as booking processing. He is looking forward to supporting our customers as much as possible. In addition to his work at Pilgino, Sebastian is interested in linguistics (he speaks German, English and Spanish) and technology. Books and computers are also among his great interests.

Olesia, or Oli as she is known to many, lives in Bilbao, the capital of the Basque Country, but is originally from Ukraine. She has been working at Pilgino for over 10 years, speaks several languages and is responsible for reservations at Pilgino and the first point of contact for individual travelers on site. Oli also regularly accompanies our groups as a tour guide. She loves and lives pilgrimage and the peace and quiet she finds there, which is why she also travels privately on the various Caminos every year. Her other interests include music, sport and literature.

Erika is our all-rounder for the PilginoShop. She has been with Pilgino since 2017 and is responsible for purchasing, maintaining the online portal and shipping orders. She answers questions about equipment for the Way of St. James by phone, email and on site in our small store. Erika studied media design and programming languages in France, where she lived for a long time, and therefore speaks German, English and fluent French.
