From the historic pilgrimage site of Fátima to Porto
From Fátima to Porto
This pilgrimage starts in Fátima, the Catholic national shrine of Portugal. The first few days take pilgrims through green Portugal, over wooded hills and fields and through many small villages and towns towards the Atlantic. The highlight of this route is certainly the beautiful city of Leiria. In Figueira da Foz, with its large harbor and beautiful beach, the pilgrim finally reaches the long-awaited sea. Over the following days, the Caminho de Santiago moves north between the Atlantic beach and the large, long estuary of the Rio Aveiro. A ferry ride is also part of the pilgrimage route. The last two days are spent walking directly along the beach to the fantastic city of Porto on the Douro. Porto welcomes pilgrims with many sights and is also the home of the famous port wine.
This pilgrimage route is particularly impressive due to its proximity to the sea and the associated nature experiences.
Please note: This route is not yet marked with the familiar arrows. We provide maps with the marked route for you to download. You can also download the correct GPX track so that you can always find your way safely using your smartphone. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
This "new" trail is beautiful, but you should bring a little sense of direction and a thirst for adventure with you. However, you don't necessarily need to be a seasoned scout.
As there is not yet a German-language pilgrim guide for this route, we will provide you with a more comprehensive pilgrim folder with lots of information.

Keine Reisedaten verfügbar.
The trip includes the following services:
* Transfer from the airport to the Way of St. James: We will give you an arrival time (and departure time) at one of the main airports for the Way of St. James. You travel independently until this time and we organize the transfer to the Way of St. James (or back). Exceptions to this are the start and end locations that have their own international airport (Santiago, Porto, Lisbon) and the tours in Andalusia, which can be reached via a number of different airports. Arrival and departure are self-organized.
** Half-board tour PK-2 Fátima: Meals start with breakfast on the first day of the pilgrimage and end with dinner on the day of arrival in Porto.
*** No supervision by the tour guide on the rest days and on the days off. The tour guide does not walk with the pilgrims on the Way of St. James on the pilgrimage days, but organizes the luggage transport and can be reached with the support vehicle in case of emergencies.
This offer is a pilgrimage group tour planned and organized by Pilgino. Breakfast and dinner are taken together. There is also a voluntary "start of the day" every morning by the tour guide for the whole group. Pilgrims are not necessarily required to walk in a group, but can choose their own pace and the intervals between breaks.
The tour guide does not go on pilgrimage with the participants, but drives the support vehicle, takes care of luggage transportation and can be contacted by telephone if necessary. Our tour guides are themselves experienced pilgrims who are happy to help and advise the participants.
The minimum number of participants for our group tours is usually 8 people. If this number is not reached at least 4 weeks before the start of the tour, Pilgino has the right to cancel the tour. In this case, you will receive a full refund of your deposit or the tour price already paid.
