From Saint Jean Pied de Port across the Pyrenees to Pamplona
Saint Jean Pied de Port to Nájera
St. Jean Pied de Port, still on the French side of the Pyrenees, is the starting point of this pilgrimage. From here, the route climbs up into the fantastic mountain world of the Pyrenees. After a steep but fairly short stage on the first day, the pilgrims spend the night in Huntto in a converted farmhouse nestled in the mountains.
The next day, the Napoleon route continues along the Way of St. James towards Spain. The Spanish province of Navarre welcomes the pilgrims with lonely paths through mountain forests that often seem to disappear in the mist of the clouds. Passing the old Augustinian monastery in Roncesvalles, the route leads to Burguete, where the pilgrimage groups stay overnight in the hotel where Ernest Hemingway wrote parts of his novel "Fiesta".
After Pamplona, the capital of the province of Navarra, known for its Fiesta San Fermín and the running of the bulls, the route continues over the "Pass of Forgiveness" (Puerto del Perdón) to Obanos, where the Navarrese Way of St. James joins the Way of St. James from Aragón.
We walk through the province of La Rioja, whose wines have made this region famous throughout the world, to Nájera, the last stage of this pilgrimage.

This offer is a pilgrimage group tour planned and organized by Pilgino. Breakfast and dinner are taken together. There is also a voluntary "start of the day" every morning by the tour guide for the whole group. Pilgrims are not necessarily required to walk in a group, but can choose their own pace and the intervals between breaks.
The tour guide does not go on pilgrimage with the participants, but drives the support vehicle, takes care of luggage transportation and can be contacted by telephone if necessary. Our tour guides are themselves experienced pilgrims who are happy to help and advise the participants.
The minimum number of participants for our group tours is usually 8 people. If this number is not reached at least 4 weeks before the start of the tour, Pilgino has the right to cancel the tour. In this case, you will receive a full refund of your deposit or the tour price already paid.
